Witness hunt after car crash

POLICE are appealing for a witness to a fatal road traffic collision to come forward.

A Mercedes car hit a tree on Bromford Lane, in Erdington, near to the Lad in the Lane Pub, at 9.40pm on Saturday, December 29.

A 28-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A silver Mercedes CLK was travelling behind the car and it is believed the driver would have witnessed the first vehicle leaving the road.

The driver is described as a middle-aged man, who is believed to be of tanned appearance or may possibly be Asian. He was smartly dressed and is believed to have stopped at the scene to offer assistance.

The man, and any other witnesses, are asked to contact the road policing unit at Nechells Green police station on 0845 113 5000.
