Joyride car wedged under truck

A JOYRIDER left a car wedged under the back of a parked truck after a crash in Birmingham.

Fire crews and police were called to Boleyn Road, Frankley, at about 6.45pm yesterday after a black Renault Megane was found ploughed into the back of a builder's pickup truck.

A major incident rescue team was called as well as two fire engines from Northfield but the driver had fled the scene by the time rescue crews arrived. No-one was injured in the incident.

Crew commander Paul Smith, who attended the incident, said: "Judging by the extent of the damage to the back of the truck and how far the car was wedged underneath it, the car was travelling at quite high speeds."
