Fewer drunken drivers nabbed
THE number of drivers caught over the alcohol limit or on drugs over Christmas dropped by 45 per cent, West Midlands police have revealed.
More than 20,000 drivers were stopped during the month-long campaign which ran until January 1.
Of the 2,418 breath-tested, 12.8 percent of people tested positive - a drop on last year's percentage of 13.7. In 2006, 58 drivers were dealt with but this year there were only 26.
