Jamie builds on his success

A HOUSING company site manager has scooped a major industry award for building the best quality new homes in Britain.

Jamie Bishop, who works for Barratt West Midlands, won the Supreme Award in the Pride In The Job campaign run by the National House Building Council (NHBC).

The 36-year-old from Cannock was recognised for the exceptionally high quality of his development at Edenside, in Wednesbury.

The honours are among the most coveted in the industry and are awarded after inspectors from NHBC - the industry's watchdog body - carry out a series of site inspections to select the best-organised and best-built housing developments in Britain.

Jamie started his career in construction at 16 as a trainee roof tiler and has worked for Barratt West Midlands since 2004.

He said: "Winning any Pride In The Job award is the ultimate reward in our business and I am so proud to have got this far. It's been extremely hard work and a great team effort."
