Shoppers flee WWII bomb

SHOPPERS and office workers were evacuated today following the discovery of a suspected World War Two bomb.

It is thought construction workers came across the potentially deadly find in Level Street, Brierley Hill.

Firefighters were called to the scene and put on stand-by just before 10am.

Police closed off Level Street, Bank Street and High Street, and the Asda supermarket and Fitness First were evacuated as a precaution.

Army bomb disposal experts were called.
