Blaze in community building

THIRTY firefighters battled a serious blaze at an empty community building in north Birmingham last night.

Six crews were called to the Kingstanding Community Association, on Kingstanding Road, at around 5.55pm and some of them were still at the scene at midnight.

The cause of the blaze will be established later today, but it is being treated as suspicious.

Fire investigation teams were today scouring the wreckage of the building for clues to the seat of the blaze.
