Girl boozers batter trader

CCTV of Babbs off licence in Northfield

JUST seconds after this CCTV footage was taken, three teenagers attacked a Birmingham trader who had refused to sell them booze.

Police want to trace the two girls and a youth in the pictures after a 27-year-old shopkeeper was punched and kicked in her face and chest.

At about 8.30pm on Friday, at Bab's Off Licence in Norrington Road, Northfield, two girls were told they could not be served alcohol because they did not have proof of their age.

The girls left, but returned with a youth and were refused service again.

The trio then launched themselves at the shopkeeper, police said.

A 40-year-old man tried to intervene, but he was also punched and kicked to the floor and needed treatment for cuts and bruises.

Nothing was stolen in the incident and the three then left the shop and were driven from the scene by a fourth person waiting in a car outside.

* Anyone who can help identify the people in the pictures is urged contact CID at Bournville Lane police station on 0845 113 5000.
