Soldiers hit by superbugs at Birmingham's Selly Oak hospital

EIGHT wounded soldiers being treated at a Birmingham hospital trust have caught superbugs in the past year.

Findings show the servicemen recovering from injuries inflicted in Iraq and Afghanistan war zones caught Clostridium difficile(C.diff) and MRSA while at the Royal Centre of Defence Medicine, in Selly Oak.

Graziella Kontowski, head of pressure group C.diff Support, said was a "national scandal" that soldiers caught the superbugs.
