Waterstones in Birmingham city centre is hit by early-morning fire
A BIRMINGHAM bookstore was hit by a blaze today.
The fire broke out in the basement at Waterstones, in High Street, shortly after 5.30am.
Five fire crews from Aston, Highgate, Handsworth and Perry Barr tackled the fire.
No-one was reported to have been injured. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage was not immediately clear. No-one was immediately available for comment from the shop.
