Historic Lyttleton Arms at Hagley to re-open after blaze

AN historic Midland pub which was devastated in a fierce blaze just before Christmas has risen from the ashes and will reopen next month.

More than £100,000 damage was caused at the landmark Lyttelton Arms in Hagley, near Stourbridge, when flames leapt through the roof in the blaze on December 17.

But now the pub has been largely rebuilt and the famous hostelry is to reopen its doors on May 3.

Forty firefighters spent more than 24 hours at the site after the blaze broke out in the early hours.

No customers were in the pub at the time and the small number of staff who lived on site were safely evacuated.
