Motorbike pair badly injured in Old Hill crash

A MOTORCYCLIST and his pillion passenger were taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after a crash.

The accident happened in Reddal Hill Road, Old Hill, at about 12.05am on Saturday.

Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and care team doctors were sent to the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The two men had been thrown from the machine, and both were initially knocked unconscious.

"The passenger, aged 21, had a badly broken lower leg. He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken on blue lights to Selly Oak Hospital.

"A care team doctor travelled with him.

"The rider, who is about the same age, had broken both legs. He too was immobilised and taken on blue lights to the hospital, and one of the care team doctors travelled with him.

"No-one else was hurt."
