Gay bashers attack wrong man

A MAN was punched in the face and kicked because his attackers thought he was gay.

The 21-year-old victim was confronted in Fuse nightclub, Redditch, by two men who asked if he was gay.

The victim is not homosexual, but was punched in the face and kicked. He sustained cuts and bruising to his face and bruising to his stomach.

The attack took place at the Church Road club at about 1am on Friday, May 9.

PC Karen Johnson said it was believed there were a number of witnesses to the incident, and officers were keen to speak to two men who spoke to a bouncer.

The offenders were both white men with shaved or very short hair.

One was slim, 5ft 8in, with light-coloured hair and a neck tattoo, and wore a light blue T-shirt and jeans. The other man was of a similar appearance and is also believed to have a tattoo.
