Accidents spark Black Country rush hour chaos

MOTORISTS faced traffic chaos across the Black Country today after separate accidents in Dudley and Halesowen.

The first smash happened on the A458 Stourbridge Road at Halesowen at 7.30 am.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said two people were taken to hospital after the accident between a car and a van.

The spokesman said the smash happened near the Conservative Club and the two casualties, who were taken to Russells Hall Hospital, suffered head and ankle injuries.

The second accident happened just a few minutes later at the Milking Bank island, Himley Road, Dudley.

A car went out of control and hit a lamp-post and bus stop.

A 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries and concussion and was also taken by ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital.
