Police find loaded pistol in house swoop
POLICE have recovered a loaded pistol in a swoop on a house in Birmingham.
The 9mm pistol was found in a house during an intelligence-led operation targeting armed crime in Birmingham.
The discovery, in the early hours of this morning, came as police continued a crackdown on armed offences following a spate of shooting in Birmingham in the past month.
Officers from Thornhill Road police executed a warrant under the Firearms Act an address on Berry Close, Handsworth, at 6am.
A stun gun was recovered from the premises alongside the loaded 9mm handgun.
A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken into police custody.
