Debris fall in city centre closes road
A BUSY Birmingham street was closed for several hours after debris fell onto the road from a nearby building.
Brunel Street, just off Suffolk Street Queensway, was shut by police and highways officers at about 4pm yesterday after reports heavy material had broken off from a structure and blocked the road.
No-one was hurt in the incident which caused major disruption to rush-hour traffic heading south out of the city.
A police spokeswoman said: “The road was closed due to large debris falling off the side.”
