Mr Bean's teddy bear on sale at Solihull auction

Toy Expert Kegan Harrison with the worlds biggest and best loved bear

AN award-winning collection of teddy bears, including one owned by Rowan Atkinson’s Mr Bean went under the hammer at an auction of toys and dolls near Solihull.

The bears, sold at a Bonhams sale, in Knowle, Solihull, were housed at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Teddy Bear Museum, which was founded by former Tory MP Gyles Brandreth in 1988.

The sale did not include items from the museum which were loaned to the attraction or given to it on trust, including a bear belonging to Tony Blair.

Among the lots at the sale was an 11ft-high teddy bear which is thought to be the world’s largest, a spokeswoman said.
