Woman critically ill after electricity pylon fall

A WOMAN was today still battling for her life after plunging from an electricity pylon in Dudley.

The horrific incident in Kingswinford Road happened as children from nearby Holly Hall Maths and Computing College were leaving for the day, with many left distraught.

Emergency crews were called at about 3pm on Wednesday, to find the woman standing near the top, 30ft up.

It is thought she caught an electric wire and was thrown off it backwards in a “big flash”.

Residents told how they thought the woman, who has not been named by police but is believed to be in her 30s, had been persuaded by officers to come down when she touched one of the live cables.

The woman was taken to nearby Russells Hall Hospital with numerous injuries where she remains “critical but stable” in intensive care.
