Road closures
SOME roads around the ICC will be closed off during the four days.
At the ICC itself the pedestrian mall through the convention centre will be shut to the general public.From 5am on Sunday the following road restrictions will be in place:
n Through traffic will not be allowed along Broad Street as the section between Paradise Circus Queensway and Gas Street will be pedestrian access only.
n Traffic will be diverted along Holliday Street and Berkley Street.
n Bridge Street, adjacent to the Hyatt Hotel, and Cambridge Street will also be closed to traffic.
Motorists are advised to use the following routes instead of Broad Street:
n Coming into the city from the A456 Hagley Road - Monument Road, Alston Street, Ring Road, Spring Hill Circus and A 457 to Paradise Circus.
From Five Ways Island – Islington Row, Bath Row, Holloway Head, Holloway Circus Queensway, Suffolk Street Queensway to Paradise Circus.
n Car parking will also be affected with the Civic Centre car park next to the Rep Theatre being closed, but all others remaining open.
Pay and display parking in Bridge Street, Berkley Street and Gas Street will not be possible.
n The taxi rank in Broad Street outside The Reflex, and the rank in Bridge Street next to the Hyatt Hotel will be suspended during the conference but extra ranks will be put in Berkley Street, Oozells Street, Cambridge Street and Broad Street.
n Bus stops in Broad Street between Sheepcote Street and Paradise Circus will be suspended.
n The Hyatt Regency Hotel and its bar, restaurant, gym, pool and Amala spa will be closed to the public during the period of the conference.
