Digbeth police station evacuated
A BIRMINGHAM police station was evacuated this afternoon after a suspicious package was discovered inside.
Officers were ordered to leave Digbeth police station, at the junction of Digbeth High Street and Allison Street, after the security alert.
A police spokesman said a “suspicious package has been found in the confines” of the station.
A cordon was placed around the station and a number of roads were closed off.
Army bomb disposal experts were also drafted in to monitor the situation.
