Elderly woman rescued from Sheldon fire

AN elderly woman was led to safety after her electric blanket caught fire.

The woman was checked over for minor smoke inhalation after fire started in a first floor bedroom at her semi-detached home in Brays Road, Sheldon.

Two fire crews from Hay Mills were called to the incident at about 10.20pm yesterday.
