Patrick Thorne Best Speaker Award for Great Barr man's great talks

AN AMATEUR astronomer, historian, scientist and Titanic expert has been honoured for his popular dramatic lectures.

Andrew Lound, from Great Barr, has been wowing audiences with his talks and demonstrations for more than 30 years.

He has now scooped the Patrick Thorne Best Speaker Award by the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal Society, named in honour of the society’s late long-serving secretary.
