Birmingham jobhunters set to flock to Careers and Jobs Live event

CROWDS of jobhunters were set to flock to a free Birmingham jobs fair this weekend as unemployment reaches an 11-year high of 1.82 million.

The two-day Careers and Jobs Live event, backed by the Birmingham Mail, attracted a record number of inquiries before the event.

The exhibition is being held at the New Bingley Hall on the site of the former Birmingham Bus Depot, near Hockley Flyover.

It will run today from 10.30am to 4.30pm. A free half-hourly shuttle return bus service will run from New Street station, stopping at Colmore Row.
