Two killed in Oldham police pursuit crash are named

TWO men killed when their car crashed during a high-speed police pursuit were named by sources today.

Christopher Morrison and Paul Bunting died along with a woman after their Vauxhall Vectra struck a front garden wall in Oldham, Greater Manchester, shortly after 3.30am yesterday.

A second woman in the car is in a critical condition in hospital.

Shortly before the crash, a police patrol tried to stop the car in Oldham town centre, but the driver made off.

After entering Middleton Road, Chadderton, the vehicle struck the garden wall of an end-terrace house, two other properties and a parked car before flipping over.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Morrison in a Facebook group set up in his memory. One message said: “So young and full of life such a sad, sad loss you will be so missed by many”.

Supt Alan Greene said the police pursuit vehicle was some distance from the Vectra when it crashed.
