Arrest made after Birmingham street brawl

POLICE investigating a brawl in a Birmingham street which left a man fighting for his life in hospital have made an arrest.
A man in his early 20s was today being held by detectives at Queen’s Road on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident in Stockland Green just before midnight on Saturday. Up to 50 people were involved in fighting which broke out in the Hare & Hounds pub, Marsh Hill, before spilling into the road.
The victim, in his 40s, was found with head injuries. It is believed he was chased across the road before being attacked.
West Midlands Police said he was today in a “critical but stable” condition in hospital after surgery.
Motorists had to stop as the men clashed on the dual-carriageway. Police have appealed for them to come forward.
The pub had been hosting a private party.
