Baby snatch near Primark in New Street was a false alarm

POLICE launched a hunt for a baby boy after he was reported to have been snatched in what turned out to be a false alarm.

The 18-month-old was left unattended in a pram near Primark in New Street yesterday lunchtime.

When a security guard saw a man wheel the baby away, he called for police.

It was later established that the boy was with his dad, having being left unattended by his mother.
