Traffic gridlock after spillage closes M6 southbound between Junctions 8 and 9

MIDLAND motorists became caught up in traffic chaos today after hydraulic fluid from a maintenance vehicle spilled over two lanes on the M6. The spillage closed miles of the southbound lanes from Junction 9 to Junction 8 of the M6, and part of the M5, for several hours. Delays extended well into rush hour.
