YOUNGSTERS from a West Heath school were given a VIP day out at the city’s Thinktank after winning a Birmingham Mail competition.
Thirty youngsters and staff from West Heath Primary School were treated to the special day after taking first prize in an anti-bullying competition in conjunction with Thinktank earlier this autumn.
During the day the children, aged between nine and 11, visited a number of interactive exhibitions including Wild Life, The Street and Medicine Matters.
The school was entered for the Speak Out Stop Bullying competition by secretary Kim Hatch.
She said: “I always enter competitions in the Mail and the children were so happy when we won this one.”
Head teacher Glenn Duggan said all the children on the trip had been nominated by staff as Leading Lights.
“Leading Lights are role models. They are nominated each week by their teacher and in this case we brought the Leading Lights from the first five weeks of this term.
