Charity toy sale at Birmingham's Bullring Markets

RESIDENTS can pick up a bargain at a charity toy sale being held at Birmingham Bullring Markets.

Former Aston Villa stars and local celebrities will be among guests supporting the sale, organised by Frank Ellis, chairman of the Open Mark Traders Committee.

Mr Ellis is terminally ill with cancer and hopes to raise plenty of funds for Acorn’s Children Hospice.

Paul Tilsley, deputy leader of the council, officially started the sale on Tuesday, with appearances from ex-Villa striker Bobby Thomson and actor Laurie Hornsby.

Tomorrow historian Prof Carl Chinn, ex-Villa and Albion footballer Cyrille Regis and former Villa star Tony Morley will be special guests at the event.
