M42 delays after pile-up near Tamworth

RUSH-hour motorists were facing long delays today after a crash involving five lorries closed a motorway.

Emergency services were called to the northbound M42 at about 4am after the pile-up.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was seriously injured.

The road was expected to remain closed from Junction 10 at Tamworth to Junction 11 for Burton until around noon.
