THOUSANDS of fashion aficionados have descended on the Clothes Show Live to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Heralded as the world’s largest fashion and beauty event, the show boasts displays on fashion, hair, beauty and make-up and gives bargain hunters the chance to shop til they drop.

With a selection of big name models hitting the catwalk, fashion fans were seeing a selection of the finest garments worn by some of the planet’s most beautiful people.

A spokeswoman for the event said: “We are really excited to celebrate our 20th anniversary in true style in Birmingham.

“It is the only event in the world where visitors can experience the ultimate fashion lover’s day out under one roof.

“Visitors can shop at their favourite high street outlets, get a first glimpse at the collections from boutique brands and take in the explosive catwalk show at the fashion theatre.

“Fashion loving celebrities and industry professionals will once again take to the stage.

The celebrity line-up includes singer Alesha Dixon and TV and radio presenter Vernon Kay as well as girl band The Saturdays, Hollyoaks stars Matt Littler and Darren Jon-Jeffries, who played Max and OB in the Channel Four soap, and Marvyn Williams from T4’s Shipwrecked reality TV show.

There will also be black, blue, purple, and pink zones, providing a variety of activities from whole body makeovers to hairdressing tips and menswear.

The show, which opened today and runs until Wednesday is also featuring The Design Awards, celebrating the best up-and-coming British fashion designers.
