Tividale drugs pair avoid jail sentence

TWO men who set up a large cannabis growing operation to clear their massive debts avoided jail.

Lee Fuat-Phillips and Simon Clarke, both owing up to £30,000, were evicted from their homes after major money troubles.

Fuat-Phillips, 38, of Navigators Road, and 31-year old Clarke, of Callahan Drive, both Tividale, admitted producing cannabis – a controlled drug – and they were each given nine-month jail terms suspended for two years.

They were further ordered to carry out 200 hours community punishment.
