E.ON UK chief executive Dr Paul Golby takes pro-chancellor role at Aston University

THE chief executive of energy company E.ON UK has been appointed Pro-Chancellor of Aston University and Chair of the university’s Council.

Former Aston student Dr Paul Golby received a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and also gained his PhD at Aston. He was awarded an honorary degree by the university last year.

Dr Golby has led E.ON through two multi-billion pound acquisitions to become an organisation with an £8.5 billion turnover and 16,000 staff. He said: “Aston University is a place close to my heart, having studied here - twice. Aston gave me a great start to my career.”
