Aston Villa launch new cook book Villa on a Plate

Curtis Davies, left, Gareth Barry, centre and Luke Young at the Villa Village on Thuirsday afternoon for the launch a new cook book, 'A Taste of Villa'.

VILLA heroes hope to net stacks of cash for a Birmingham children’s charity with a new cook book of their favourite foods.

And some of the first team were on hand to sign copies of Villa on a Plate at Villa Park yesterday.

Among recipes in the 116-page book are Ashley Young’s curried goat and striker John Carew’s apple crumble.

In June Villa put the Acorns’ logo on their new kit, giving up a lucrative £2 million sponsorship deal to the charity, which relies on public donations to run children’s hospices in Selly Oak, Walsall and Worcester.

To buy a copy of the book, produced in partnership with BPM Media (Midlands), owners of the Birmingham Mail, visit a Villa store at Villa Park or New Street, or log onto www.acorns.org.uk.
