Birmingham pervert with huge child porn library faces jail

Det Con Ghouri said paedophiles often built up huge files of abuse images for kudos among other perverts.

Warwickshire Police received intelligence from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) in May 2007 and executed a search warrant at his home.

Vicky Gillings from CEOP said perverts like Purser were increasingly using “peer-to-peer” computer applications to build their collection of child pornography.

“This is a large collection and we are pleased that it has been confiscated,” she said.

“People are increasingly using peer to peer programs because it doesn’t require them to join a website or enter any credit card details which makes them more difficult to trace.

“But cases like this show that we working very hard to disrupt networks who share child abuse images.

“For operational reasons we can’t go in to how individuals are tracked but we are constantly working to target methods that paedophiles use to remain undetected.”
