West Bromwich Albion face revolt over ticket prices

A FESTIVE football ticket row could mar a pre-Christmas match in the Midlands.

For furious Manchester City fans are threatening to boycott their side’s game against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on December 21 over the £40 admission cost.

To add insult to their perceived injury, the game is even being shown on television.

City’s Official Supporters’ Club spokesman Kevin Parker said he did not believe the match should be classed as a Category A, normally reserved for teams at the top of the Premiership.

He said: “That game is the last game before Christmas and is been shown on TV anyway so it beggars belief that West Brom can charge fans £40.”

Kevin said he normally travelled to every away game with a coach-load of around 10 fans.

“So far for this game only two people are definitely going and many others are torn between loyalty to the club and the cost of a high ticket.
