Inquest opens on Redditch disabled man found in suitcase

Mr Hughes said as a child, James was sharp minded and not “as daft as he made out”.

When coroner Margaret Barnard questioned Mr Hughes on his relationship with Mrs Wardle, he replied they had been childhood sweethearts who had James while they were still young.

Heather’s partner, Brian Kirby, and another unnamed youth were initially arrested in connection with the two deaths but both were later released without charges.
