Festive party is magic for kids

CHRISTMAS came early for the young patients of Birmingham Children’s Hospital who enjoyed a festive party hosted by a former Lord Mayor.
They were entertained by a clown and a magician before tucking into cakes, jelly and ice cream in the plush surroundings of the Council House in Victoria Square.
And Father Christmas put in an appearance to hand out gifts to the 65 excited children.
Coun Mike Sharpe, hosted the first children’s party while Lord Mayor of Birmingham two years ago.
He said: “It was a brilliant afternoon. The kiddies and their parents loved it. It is something we are keen to do every year.”
