Bank tells staff: You can't have time off on Christmas Eve

MISERLY Midlands bank bosses have been branded Scrooges by an employee after they refused to allow three hours off on Christmas Eve.
Staff at HFC Bank in Birmingham received an email telling them that although they could leave early on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, they would have to make up the time in the New Year.
Angry employee Rob Thomas said: "They are Scrooges with a capital S.
"First they told us we were having a pay freeze, owing to the credit crunch. We were all a bit down.
"But then we got an email saying thanks for all your work, you can leave at 2pm on Christmas and New Years Eve if you work extra in the New Year.
"It's miserable."
