Police escort for Santa on special early visit to Quinton housing estate

CHILDREN were treated to a special early Christmas visitor when Santa Claus came to town with a police escort.

He visited Welsh House Farm at Quinton with his two elves and his sack full of goodies.

His trip was arranged by West Midlands Police’s neighbourhood police team and was part of a whistlestop tour of Quinton. As well as presents, Santa also delivered crime prevention advice.

He was transported in a sleigh borrowed from the area’s Rotary Club and pulled by a Range Rover from Central Motorway Police Group.

Sgt Jeff Doak, from Quinton East neighbourhood team, escorted Santa around the area.

He said: “It was a great experience to see so many smiling faces.”

Quinton schools were also visited and some of the best performing children were presented with a £10 Toys ‘R’Us gift voucher, with the overall best pupil being awarded a £100 voucher.
