Woodgate Valley pensioner trapped in kitchen by his mobility walker

A PENSIONER was trapped in his kitchen for two hours after his walker got wedged underneath a kitchen unit.

The 76-year-old had been making a cup of tea at 6.30am yesterday when the mobility aid got stuck in his home in White Road, Woodgate Valley.

Crew commander Paul Smith of Woodgate Valley fire station said the man had trapped his leg between the kitchen unit and his walker, and firefighters unscrewed the unit to release him. He was taken to Selly Oak hospital for a check-up but was said to be in good spirits.
