Midlands animal rescue centre full up

THE owner of a Midland animal rescue centre says an increase in the number of dogs abandoned over Christmas means it is now full.

The Cheltenham Animal Sanctuary, which blames the economic downturn for owners ditching their pets, says it is one of many in the area struggling to cope.

Manager Victor Nairn said he now has a waiting list. “As soon as a dog finds a home I telephone the next person to say there is a space available.”
