A BIRMINGHAM binman who was caught on camera drunkenly urinating in the driveway of a house and swearing at the owner before he collapsed has been suspended and could face the sack.

The refuse worker was filmed staggering unsteadily outside the home in Erdington and falling asleep on the doorstep at 2.30pm on Christmas Eve.

He turned aggressive with homeowner Christopher Timmons and then verbally abused paramedics who were called to take him away.

Pictures and video footage of the incident were exclusively revealed by the Birmingham Mail this week.

Council chiefs say they have now identified the worker, who was wearing a high-visibility jacket with the authority’s logo, and suspended him from his job at the Perry Barr depot on full pay while they investigate. He has not yet been named, but colleagues today claimed the man’s drink might have been spiked on an outing to a pub earlier that day as workers celebrated finishing work for Christmas.
