The Prime Minister was responding to the Birmingham Mail’s campaign to win Government support for JLR.
Meeting Mail editor Steve Dyson during a visit to the city, Mr Brown said he was aware of the concern surrounding the fate of Jaguar Land Rover, which employs 16,000 people, and that discussions were still continuing over the aid that might be available.
But he held back from announcing an actual agreement on the details of any loan needed.
