Manhunt after postmaster's son killed in Bromsgrove post office robbery
THIS is the face of the man killed by masked gunmen while protecting his family’s store in a quiet leafy Midland village.
A huge manhunt involving more than 100 officers was under way today in a bid to trace the armed gang who fatally shot Craig Hodson-Walker, aged 29, in the chest during the incident in Fairfield, near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
His postmaster father Ken, 56, was shot in the leg and rushed to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham, where his condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
It is believed Ken’s wife Judy ran to a neighbouring house after the shooting and was today at her husband’s hospital bedside.
Three men wearing balaclavas and armed with a handgun and a sledgehammer fled the scene of the attack at Fairfields Store in Stourbridge Road at around 8.20am yesterday. Their getaway car, a silver Volkswagen Golf, was later found abandoned nearby in Bournheath Road.
