M5 body identified as missing teen Jade Tyler
Police immediately closed Pershore Lane following the discovery of Jade’s body and forensic teams ordered the temporary closure of nearby roads and a stretch of the hard shoulder on the M5 while they conducted a painstaking search of land next to the south-bound carriageway.
Jade’s disappearance prompted West Mercia Police to launch a high-profile search across Worcestershire.
Officers pinned posters bearing a recent picture of Jade at key locations around Worcester where she had been seen, including the Maggs Day Centre, Probation Service offices, the Job Centre and Aldi and Lidl supermarkets.
Leaflets were also posted through hundreds of letter-boxes in areas she was known to frequent.
Jade, who was unemployed, was extremely popular and well-known at Christopher Whitehead Language College in Worcester.
Anyone who saw her during the time of her disappearance is asked to contact police on 0300 333 3000. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
