Post office shooting: Shopkeepers reveal fears over security

A SHOPKEEPER last night revealed how her son had been held at gunpoint during a robbery only two miles away from where Craig Hodson-Walker was shot dead.

Sandra Woakes, 46, manager at the One Stop store in Upper Catshill, near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, said her son was forced into the back room and ordered to hand over cash with a gun pointed at his head.

The robbery happened four years ago but the murder of brave Craig has sparked fears among the business community for their safety.

“Everyone is really shocked by what has happened at Fairfield,” said Sandra, who has worked in the store for 18 years, and managed the shop for four years.

“It could easily have been one of us after the number of times this shop has been raided by armed robbers.

“My son came to work at the shop briefly, but during the first week he had a gun held to his head by two masked raiders. He was forced into the back where there was some money, and ordered to hand it over.
