Stabbing in Smith's Wood: Couple injured
A MAN was fighting for life today and a woman recovering from knife wounds after a double stabbing in Solihull.
Police found the injured couple inside a two-storey maisonette in Vauxhall Crescent, Smith’s Wood.
They were alerted at about 3pm yesterday following a “report of disorder”.
The said the couple, who have not yet been named, were found with “serious injuries”.
The woman had suffered stab injuries and the man, understood to be aged in his 30s, was found with slash wounds.
Both were taken to hospital where the man today remained in a “critical but stable condition”.
The woman was said to be “stable”.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at the moment.
Detectives were closely monitoring their recovery in the hope of being able to speak with them to find out what had happened inside the address.
Neighbours described seeing the police helicopter hovering over the area yesterday afternoon. The Air Ambulance was also seen landing on nearby parkland.
