Erdington Rotary's charity cash

A BIRMINGHAM Rotary Club has thanked the city’s Lord Mayor for his support with a £100 cheque for his nominated charities. Lord Mayor Coun Chauhdry Rashid, a Rotarian, was guest of honour at the Erdington branch’s annual civic lunch. In his speech of welcome, Rotary Club president Mike Overton referred to the club’s 55-year history and presented the charity cheque to Coun Rashid. The Lord Mayor talked about his life in the UK after arriving from Pakistan at the age of 14.
