Driver hurt in bus smash

A DRIVER was badly injured when his car was sandwiched between a bus and a tree in Birmingham.

It took emergency crews about 45 minutes to free him after the incident in Washwood Heath Road, Washwood Heath, on Saturday afternoon.

The man, thought to be in his 40s and from Tamworth, had suffered cuts and bruises, a minor head injury and was complaining of knee and back pain. A 37-year-old female bus passenger was also taken hospital with leg and nose injuries.
