Birmingham City's Karren Brady denies wrongdoing after re-arrest
In November 2007, officers arrested a series of high-profile figures in the national game in a controversial series of raids.
Other figures who remain on bail are believed to include former Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp, the club’s chief executive Peter Storrie, former chairman Milan Mandaric, former player Andy Faye and agent Willie McKay.
A City of London Police spokeswoman said: “A 39-year-old woman was today arrested on suspicion of a further offence as part of the ongoing football investigation.
“For operational reasons, it is inappropriate to provide any further detail at this stage.”
She added: “We have been working with HM Revenue & Customs from the outset of the investigation.
“The investigation has always focused on money laundering.
“The Fraud Prosecution Service, which is part of the Crown Prosecution Service has identified that tax offences may be involved and further work is now taking place with the HMRC to determine the final outcome.
“The same seven people - one woman and six men - remain involved.
“The men are aged 31, 49, 57, 60 and 61-years-old. A 70-year-old man is also on bail over money laundering as well as conspiracy to defraud and false accounting allegations.”
Mr Sullivan, aged 60, was not required to answer bail yesterday.
Ms Brady, 39, became the UK’s youngest football managing director when Birmingham City floated on the stock market in 1997.
She is also chairman of Kerrang! magazine and non-executive director of Channel 4, Mothercare and Sport England.
A spokesman for HM Revenue & Customs said it was not making any comment.
